Owen Wilson was rushed to the hospital last Sunday, reports TMZ. However, the report didn’t say anything about why the actor had to be hospitalized.

ExtraTV, however, has revealed that Owen actually tried to commit suicide. It claims a source close to the actor confirmed the attempted suicide, saying that Wilson, known for his quirky comedic characters onscreen, has been suffering from depression for the last few months. His recent breakup with Kate Hudson readily comes to mind as the probable reason for his depression, but the Extra source insisted that the suicide attempt is not over a broken relationship. The source also claims that it was Luke, Owen’s brother, who found him.

With all these rumors swirling around his hospitalization, Owen, who is said to be in stable condition, said in a statement: “I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.” Translation: Leave me alone. I say good luck with that one, man.
